Biden vs Bloomberg

By: Sy Barnes January 30, 2020

Candidate Joe Biden ’s allies are worried about former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. They believe on Tuesday Bloomberg will enhance his support because of Biden centrist support. Which can honestly pave the way for Senator Bernie Sanders to win the Democratic presidential nomination?

Through the Democratic nomination process, Joe Biden is the most qualified and has just enough firepower to go against “the scoundrel” Donald Trump. However, I do believe Biden and Sanders have enough votes to go head to head. Although some Biden voters including myself are growing frustrated at Bloomberg’s late entry.

We must not forget, the reason why Bloomberg entered the race late last year because he feared that Biden doesn’t have the ability to defeat Trump. said by “The Hill.” This article also pointed out, “The former New York City mayor believes that a candidate from the left will have a tougher time defeating Trump in the general election.”

Which is funny because what makes Bloomberg so ideal for nomination? Bloomberg has skipped the early-voting states and instead of pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into staff and advertisements. It sounds more like a publicity stunt for a future campaign run for Congress.

Surprisingly polls have shown a significant overlap between Biden and Bloomberg supporters. Both have deep ties to the Democratic establishment. I fear that Biden’s and Bloomberg will divide the centrist vote. By doing this there will be a split field between the nominees.

Here is the thing Bloomberg, if you are dead bent on getting Trump out of the office like myself and many democratic voters. Why are pulling votes away from Joe at a critical point and maybe giving the nomination to Bernie Sanders? Which in my opinion might just win.
