Monday, Feb. 3, starting at 8 p.m the Iowa caucuses, the first nominating contest of the 2020 election cycle began. To participate in a Democratic or Republican caucus, you must be registered with the appropriate party.
The prime focus on caucus night is electing delegates in each of Iowa’s 1,679 precincts to the county convention. But the Democratic winner is the candidate who rounds the most state delegate equivalents after the process.
If Amy Klobuchar finishes top three or possibly higher, it would be a huge victory for her. The Minnesota senator has been picking up steam of late. Voters in Midwestern states like Iowa have shown accomplishments of winning a big election. However, the Senator rhetoric of Joe Biden age and Pete Buttigieg is too young. It seems like Klobuchar isn’t fighting in the same voter waters as other candidates.
The next best candidate after Joe Biden, of course, is Elizabeth Warren. The Massachusetts senator has been ahead for months and she has shown voter support from a mass majority of liberals in Iowa. Her campaign is spot on genius. I don’t question her dedication to this election. Personally, her campaign is the strongest one out of the field. The question for Warren is, does she have enough firepower to go against Trump. Source from NBC News said,” if it’s 1 or 2 points, Warren likely finishes third which would be surprising.
When you are the former vice president and the national front-runner, you have no choice but to win everywhere. Despite the number of pundits predicting he might not even make it this far, which barbaric. He is the only one with a legitimate chance to win. He isn’t the favorite democratic nominee but he is still in the running. He is the only candidate that has positioned to beat Trump. Biden will have the nomination wrapped up by the end of the month.
