Is Bloomberg the Ideal Candidate?

By: Sy Barnes|February 20, 2020

People argue that Mike Bloomberg is the next Donald Trump of the Democratic Party. Which is further from the truth. However, Bloomberg stood his own and impress audiences including myself for a presidential stand-in for his Democratic rivals Wednesday night.
Look, I’ll support whoever the Democratic nominee is which is quite sad. Certain blog posts have, said, “Democrats take a huge risk if we just substitute one billionaire for another.” I’ll have to disagree with that statement. First, Bloomberg is a self-made billionaire. Quite frankly, I don’t know why people care so much about how much money someone has. Every candidate that is running has a pretty good annual salary.
On another hand, Bloomberg stated that “Democrats need him — and his billions — more than he needs them.: He needs to have a better subtext of his campaign. Bloomberg’s job right now is to actively work to alienate key parts of the Democratic coalition that he would need to win a general election against Trump. CNN political news analysis said, ” Sanders, the central object of his derision, is currently the choice of about one-third of the Democratic electorate in national polls, which is more than any other candidate. Warren, with whom he also clashed, represents another group of progressive and moderate voters.
Let’s just see how far Bloomberg will effect this Democratic race. Ultimately, Bloomberg served as the necessary catalyst for the Democratic candidates to step up their fight.
