Winner of the Democratic Debate

Sy Barnes| February 20, 2020

A back and forth fight between Mike Bloomberg and Elizabeth Warren. With arrows flying in all directions and fights breaking out among the candidates on matters of healthcare and comments about women were quite entertaining.
The debate looked choreographed from head to toe. Mike faces a lot of criticism from his rivals. It was the most contentious evening of the nine faces offs so far, coming three days before the candidates face the most diverse voting electorate.
NBC News analysis wrote an article about the debate, saying “it was most aggressive and most of the hits came to Bloomberg.
Mike Bloomberg’s greatest downfall in this debate was his “stop and frisk strategy policy. He stated, ” I’ve sat, I’ve apologized, I’ve asked for forgiveness.” Pressed on why he hasn’t released his tax returns, he said “it just takes a long time” because of his extensive business dealings and “I can’t just go to Turbo Tax.”
Elizabeth Warren lit Bloomberg over past sexist remarks and nondisclosure agreements with women, declaring, “America takes a huge risk if we just substitute one arrogant billionaire for another.” The question is how far will she go after this election.
Joe Biden, the former vice president, faced a new test in a more diverse state after strong showings in Iowa and New Hampshire, urged Americans not to let Sanders and Bloomberg become the only two choices, saying the senator wants to “burn this party down” and the billionaire wants to “buy this party out.”
More to this story will come. We just have to wait and see what outcome will this presidential race has.
